Foil effects sticker printing allows you to print shimmering foil colours in your own custom shades and even with gradients of colour at really affordable prices.

Foil effects stickers are printed on an offset press in full colour with the areas you want in foil printed on top of a layer of silver. Choose from a variety of standard shapes and sizes and bring the bling to your packaging and branding projects.

These stickers are printed on paper stock with a crack and peel backing not intended for outdoor use. We add a high gloss UV coating to your stickers to enhance colours, boost the metallic sheen and provide a protective layer.

Can Foil Affect Colours?

Images or artwork printed with foil effects will darken slightly and some gradient range will be lost. Consider lightening images before printing for a better result.

Can I Use Silver Colour?

If you would like only silver foil effects to print, make sure to have at least 15% K over the foil for higher quality silver colour, as well as to prevent chipping or flaking.

Can I Use Full Bleed Foil?

Foil effects allows you to design with full coverage and full bleed, unlike foil stamping that is limited 50% of the coverage and no bleed of the foil.

Can Knockouts Happen?

Knockouts are the spaces in the foil effects mask or in the CMYK print file. Be aware there might be a "halo" of white around the knockout area. Although registration is better than traditional foil stamping, it will not be exact.

Can I Use Small Text with Foil Effects Stickers?

Do not design using foil effects on very thin or small text or artwork. For best results, use large areas or fonts 12pt and above. Sans-serif fonts 10 point or above will also work.

Should I Use Dark Colours for Foil Effects?

Foil effects works best on lighter colours. The darker and more saturated the colour is, the less effect the foil effect will have.

WHhat Is the Difference Between Foil Effects and Foil Stamping?

Foil stamping is the true and traditional form of adding foil to your project. Foil stamping is limited to under 50% coverage, cannot bleed and is not suited to complex designs. Foil effects allows almost unlimited foil colours amd gradients, and can be used for intricate designs. We offer traditional foil stamping on our Flexographic Printed Stickers while foil effects is only printed on our Offset Stickers.

Can Grey Colours Shift?

CMYK Process colours in the grey range and de-saturated images can shift in colour throughout the print run and may cause the greys to appear either cooler or warmer. For a neutral grey, we recommend converting all grey values and de-saturated images to true greyscale consisting of K (black) only values.

Should I Use Rich Black?

For the richest of deep dark blacks in print, use 50/40/40/100 as the CMYK value. If printing small black text (or knocked out text), we recommend a k only black (0/0/0/100) to avoid misregistration issues.

Is There Colour Variation on Solid Blue?

Due to the nature of club-run printing, you may experience colour variation in solid fills of blue. For great blue results, we recommend a 30% difference between your Cyan and Magenta levels to ensure a nice rich dark blue, rather than purple.

Does UV Gloss Change Colours?

Colours under the UV gloss coating will appear slightly darker and richer than on a sticker with no coating.
