Make a lasting impression with 19pt suede laminated business cards that combine sophisticated style with a velvet soft matte finish. These premium business cards are designed to captivate the senses while offering the durability and moisture resistance of suede lamination.

Take your cards to the next level with the option to add spot UV gloss. This clear high gloss layer adds shine and contrast, perfect for highlighting logos, patterns, or key design elements against the matte surface.

Orders of 100 or 250 cards are printed on a digital press with orders of 500 or more printed on the offset press.

*Pro Tip: If you order cards using both print methods there will be colour hue differences.

These cards are printed in our California print shop in full colour on thick 16pt card stock finished with a 1.5mil suede lamination on both sides, creating a substantial 19pt card that feels as impressive as it looks.

Coatings Make The Colour Vary

Without the use of spot gloss, colours under silk laminated coating will appear slightly muted and may alter the final result. (Even 100% K will appear somewhat charcoal in colour.) Colour matching of artwork is not suited to this product. Silk Laminated cards will mute your colours, if you add spot gloss to it will darken that specific section.

Fine Details Don't Translate Well To Spot UV

Due to the liquid nature of the spot gloss application, fine details may expand and fill in unexpectedly. If the spot gloss placement includes a lot of fine detail, tight corners, etc., the spot gloss will result in some filling in, especially at smaller sizes. Make sure that spot gloss designs are as simple and large as possible.

Don't Try To Spot UV Fine Text

Because there may be some slight shifting of the spot UV (spot gloss), we do not advise putting the spot UV over the text. You can expect up to 1/16" variance between the gloss and the CMYK layers, so trying to line up the thin gloss with small or thin text underneath may not turnout as expected.

Spot UV Can Shift

Spot gloss doesn't always line up 100% perfect. Usually "blind" spot gloss applications turn out the best. Aligning the spot gloss with CMYK elements often reduces the contrast of the spot gloss and any shift in alignment is noticeable. Spot gloss alone provides great contrast when applied over a solid fill or even just on the white matte stock. Another great effect is to have a pattern in just spot gloss in the background.

Technical Specifications + Templates

Bleeds: all files must have a 1/8" bleed on each side
Live Area: keep all critical text and artwork 1/8" inside the trim
Colours: supply your files in CMYK colour (Pantone/RGB colours will be converted or rejected)
Spot Gloss: Please include a separate file indicating spot gloss, using a single solid colour fill, typically 100% black or a custom spot colour. Alternatively, if you prefer to spot gloss in the same file, place it on a separate layer or artboard, marked with a single solid colour fill denoting the name for each element. Ensure alignment with CMYK artwork when necessary.
Resolution: 300 dpi minimum (400 dpi preferred)
Fonts: fonts must converted to curves/outlines (we do not accept fonts).
Transparencies: flatten all transparencies
